Google has announced it’s closing down its social network service Google+
The concept of Google+ was great. With all of Google’s services an asymmetrical social network that is fully integrated. Being able to integrate the social network with all of Google’s services meant that your post could appear in the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs) of Google.

Why Google+ is shutting down? How to save your Data Explained

“The consumer version of Google+ currently has low usage and engagement: 90% of Google+ user sessions are less than 5 seconds.” – As stated by Google

The recent data breach also seems to be the tipping point for Google to make the decision to shut it down.

Google assessed that over 5 lakh users have been affected, although there is no confirmation that the data was misused.

What to do now & How it will affect you?

If you’re a Google+ Community owner or moderator:
Download your data for your Google+ Community and save it.

If you have used your Google+ sign in credentials to login into applications and sites using the Google+ Sign-in button:
These buttons will stop working and in some cases may be replaced by a Google Sign-in button. You will still be able to Sign in with your Google account.

If you’ve used Google+ on your own or other sites for Comments:
This features will be removed from all sites by March 7th. From 2 April 2019, all your Google+ comments on all sites will be deleted.

If You’re a G Suite customer:
Google+ for your G suite account should remain active. You can also expect a new look and features soon.
